St. Damian Christian Service Commission
The Christian Service Commission exists as a model and resource of Catholic Social Teaching to enable the entire Parish communion to put the social teaching of the Church into action.

Committees and Committee heads under Commission:
Life Issues: Chair: Michael Cobb
Responsibilities: To organize and execute information on life issues as they pertain to Catholic Social teachings, how parishes can take action peacefully and effectively on certain community issues in today’s society. To educate parishioners on the teachings of certain issues as they pertain to the Catholic Faith.
Social receptions and hospitality: Chair: Kathy Birchfield
Responsibilities: To host and organize receptions that promote fellowship within our parish community such as small gatherings. Gatherings of larger amounts of individuals such as fundraising are handled by those that initiate the fundraiser. This is for example handling the RCIA reception in the future the cookie and punch for reconciliation and other such activities that take place.
Protecting God’s Planet: Chair:
Responsibilities: To bring forth information and parish involvement within the community to do our part to make sure we are doing what is necessary to save the earth. Example recycling of goods, nurturing the land, planting trees flowers, and also partake in keeping it clean and beautiful.
Health and Wellness: Chair:
Responsibilities: To ensure the health and wellness of all within our parish community by offering services and information on how we can become healthier in not only our bodies but our souls. Nurse would be ideal to fill this position one that is not only health conscience but also takes a spiritual path at health.
