WORSHIP COMMISSION IN ST. DAMIAN PARISH
 
The Liturgy is the summit toward which the activities of the Church is directed: It is also the font from which all her power flows."( constitution on Sacred Liturgy..Vatican Council II)
Under the leadership and guidance of the Pastor, the Liturgy Commission seeks to nurture and enhance the full participation of the faithful in the worship life of the Church, particularly through the Liturgy of the Mass.  The Committee assists the Pastor in planning and implementing liturgical celebrations with art, environment, and word, music, and actions.
 
Members of the Commission keep educated through ongoing study of Church and liturgical documents and liturgical theory, and they are actively involved in St. Damian Parish liturgies. 

Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the month.  Parishoners are invited to attend the meetings.

  • 11 members attended a Workshop at Sacred Heart Seminary on January 25th, regarding the introduction of the Third Edition of the Roman Missal.

  • The catechesis of the parish, Religious Formation, and School will begin in the near future.

  • There are 4 Candidates in the RCIA that are preparing for their full initiation into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil.

  • Holy Thursday services for St. Damian and St. Theodores will be celebrated at St. Theodores Parish.

  • The Easter Vigil for St. Damian and St. Theodores will be celebrated at St. Damian parish. Time for the Easter Vigil will be announced in the near future.
