CURRICULUM
St. Damian School is a Faith community of administrators, educators, parents and students, bound together for the purpose of education and the formation of Catholic values and attitudes. As a Catholic school community, St. Damian takes into consideration the whole person and encourages him/her to grow physically, spiritually, intellectually, morally and socially as the Gospel directs.
We believe that our shared Mission and Philosophy Statements coupled with our Student Mission Statement are the driving force behind our curriculum. We believe that our excellent educational program centers around our Catholic beliefs and our dedicated teachers and staff. Our team of teachers is made up of highly qualified individuals who are committed to meeting the learning needs/styles of all their students. Classroom instruction varies from whole group to small groups with additional learning experiences built into the curriculum. Each subject area consists of well-defined objectives/outcomes based on constituent expectations including development of knowledge, understanding, and skills. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation in all areas of study and is aligned with the Michigan Benchmarks. St. Damian School is fully accredited by the Michigan Nonpublic Schools Accrediting Association. Information regarding grade level curriculum is provided on the menu options.
