Spiritual Development –

During the school year the children will be working on many skills.
Colors – red, blue, yellow, orange, brown, green, pink, purple
Shapes – circles, squares, triangles, rectangles
Math – sorting objects, classifying objects, rote counting 1-5, graphing, sizes, shapes and positions
Science – weather, food groups, body parts, animal habitats, plants and seasons
These holidays are covered throughout the year:
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, St. Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Lent and Easter.
Some of the themes we cover are apples, pumpkins, 5 senses, nursery rhymes, penguins, teddy bears, dental health, transportation, eggs/chicks, flowers, farm animals, bugs, and space and food groups.

Cognitive Development

· Recognizes and counts numbers 0 – 5
During the second half of the school year the preschoolers will be introduced to:
· the letters K – Z
· recognition of both first and last name
· writing first and last name
· Holidays – St. Valentines Day, Feast of St. Blasé, St. Patrick’s Day,
Feast of Joseph, the Virgin Mary, Lent, and Easter
· Recognizes and counts numbers 0 – 10
· Writing numerals 0 – 10
The children go to library twice a month.
The children go to church to learn about Jesus and the different symbols in church.
